Probable fuel sensor malfunction...or not ?

I think I use my scooter for a lot.....errands, short commutes, even the weekend coffee run, its a Kymco Like 150i and over the past week, the fuel gauge started giving me grief. First, it hovered weirdly near full even after a long ride, I thought it might have just been a minor thing, maybe due to overuse that day or something but then a few days ago, it suddenly dropped to empty and triggered the low fuel light...right after I'd topped up!, and these are just the worst amongst the other side tantrums it has thrown, I'm suspecting the fuel sensor, am I right?, has this happened to anyone here before?

This happened to me too! In my case moisture had sneaked into the connector, causing false readings. A quick clean and reseal fixed it right up. Did yours dropped to empty right after fueling? You can check the sensor inside the tank.

You could try cleaning the sensor assembly if it's just sticky, but on most occasions, replacement is the fix, if you dont mind checking it yourself, it's usually under the seat or tank area

You might want to check the wiring harness too, even a loose connection can throw the gauge off.
